The National Skills Training Institute is the registered training organisation. Every qualification is issued under RTO 41462, and all training and assessment is delivered within Australia’s regulated vocational education and training framework.
NSTI delivers through two specialist faculties. Pet Stylist Academy covers dog grooming and animal care; Dog Trainer Academy covers dog training, assistance dog work and animal assisted services. The split is deliberate — it lets each faculty go deep on its industry standards and practical capability rather than spreading thinly across every animal discipline.
For dog training courses, practical training is delivered in partnership with Master of Puppies, a dog training organisation known for its modern, ethical and results-driven approach. They are our practical training partner, not a training provider in their own right — your qualification comes from NSTI.
The National Skills Training Institute is a registered training organisation delivering nationally recognised qualifications across the animal care, pet grooming and dog training sectors. As an Australian Government approved RTO, NSTI operates within the national vocational education and training framework, ensuring all training and assessment meets strict quality, compliance and industry standards.
Our role is to provide structured, regulated education that supports students to gain practical skills, formal qualifications, and clear career pathways within the animal and pet industry.
NSTI is also an approved Skills Assure Supplier in Queensland and an approved Smart and Skilled provider in New South Wales, so eligible students can access government subsidised training.
Pet Stylist Academy is the faculty covering professional dog grooming and animal care, from short courses through to Certificate III. It is led by International Master Groomer Emily Myatt.
The faculty delivers seven qualifications and short courses, including the Bather / Brusher Course, the Dog Grooming Foundation Course, and the full ACM30122 Certificate III in Animal Care Services with the Pet Grooming specialisation.
The Dog Trainer Academy was established to meet the growing demand for highly skilled, professionally trained dog trainers and handlers across Australia. The Academy specialises exclusively in dog training, behaviour and handling qualifications, allowing us to focus deeply on industry standards, animal welfare and practical capability.
Our purpose is to support students to build genuine competence, not just complete a course, so they can work confidently with dogs in professional, educational and community settings.
Master of Puppies is a highly regarded dog training organisation known for its modern, ethical and results-driven approach to dog training and behaviour. With a strong focus on real-world outcomes, Master of Puppies works with dogs and handlers across a wide range of environments, using evidence-based training methods that prioritise welfare, clarity and consistency.
As the practical training partner for the Dog Trainer Academy, Master of Puppies provides students with the opportunity to apply their learning in authentic, hands-on settings, under the guidance and mentorship of Will Paton.
